        <![CDATA[<p>I woke up this morning, made tea, and hit the beach for some<br />Recharging Qi Gong. It's Labor Day so I decided to hang out and<br />take in the sun now that Hurricane Gustav has passed us by.</p>
<p>I always wondered what Labor Day was all about. </p>
<p>Was it something for women who were going to have a baby or was<br />it a day to work harder or just the last holiday before the<br />kids had to go back to school.&nbsp; </p>
<p>It seems that Labor Day is a day of respect and thankfulness to<br />the people who labored to make America a prosperous and strong<br />nation. </p>
<p>Holidays or (Holy Days) are very important regardless of what<br />country you live in or what Holiday you celebrate simply<br />because they remind us to be grateful for what we have.</p>
<p>I try to remind myself and others of this every day not just<br />holidays.</p>
<p>When ever I send you an email I always sign it by wishing you<br />Health, Wealth and Happiness. </p>
<p>Let me tell you why I do that.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </p>
<p>First Health, if you don't have your Health you've got nothing. </p>
<p>The vehicle of your higher self is your Body, your Mind, and<br />the Quality of your Breath. If those things are not healthy you<br />lack the ability to get anywhere in life, do anything or<br />acquire anything.</p>
<p>The most important key to Health that is over looked in the<br />modern world is Internal Training. The Internal Training is the<br />method of unifying the movement with the mind and the breathing<br />to create a powerful flow of Qi in the body.</p>
<p>The flowing Qi is what will keep you alive and young period!<br />Everything else is external.</p>
<p>Men lift weights to build muscle and become fit but don't<br />understand "Strength" - it comes from the inside. Cultivate Qi<br />and make huge gains while you access an unlimited supply of the<br />best testosterone on the planet - YOUR OWN BODY.</p>
<p>Women want to be thin and beautiful but don't realize that the<br />fat in their body is a reaction to toxins and blockages in the<br />flow of Qi. Detox the body and emotions and the weight falls<br />off like dead baggage.</p>

<p>Second I always wish you Wealth. "Wealth" is not just money<br />although that is part of it. Money usually helps. So much<br />energy is wasted on worrying about money that that very thing<br />is what makes people sick. </p>
<p>There was once a remarkable and very powerful energy healer in<br />India and it was said that his very touch could bring people<br />back from the edge of death. As the story goes, before wasting<br />this precious healing energy that he was cultivating for his<br />own enlightenment he would give the patient some money. His<br />understanding of "Wealth" was very different indeed. </p>
<p>Third I wish you Happiness. Happiness more than an emotion, or<br />a chemical balance in the brain. Happiness is a state of<br />being.&nbsp; </p>

<p>I think ol' Abe knew what he was talking about - wonder where<br />he learned that one from. Probably had a Qi Gong Doctor we<br />didn't know about.</p>

    <title>2 lessons beat into me</title>

        <![CDATA[<p>Fifty years ago I was living in the only place on earth that<br />has sub-zero arctic winters followed by some of the hottest<br />tropical summers, Detroit Michigan.</p>
<p>Some call it hell, they even have a small town called Hell<br />Michigan just outside of Detroit, nice place...</p>
<p>But as a kid you don't really notice the weather too much you<br />just don't realize it could be any different.</p>
<p>As a kid I was a hyper active, by today's standards I would<br />have been medicated for sure.</p>
<p>Thankfully my father dealt with my hyper activity the old<br />fashioned way, he enrolled me in boxing and later Jujitsu.</p>
<p>I definitely knocked the steam out of me, when I wasn't taking<br />a boxing glove full speed to the nose I was being tossed like a<br />rag flat on my back. </p>
<p>My nickname was "Mop" because the bigger guys used to mop the<br />floor of the Dojo with me.</p>
<p>This early training beat two important life lessons into me.</p>
<p>I'm am grateful for these hard won lessons because they have<br />saved my life and kept me balanced and grounded through the<br />years.</p>
<p>And I want to share them with you.<br />&nbsp;<br />&gt;&gt;LESSON ONE that was beat into me:</p>
<p>Learn how to fall. Everyone that learns any sort of grappling<br />knows this is lesson one. There are actually several different<br />techniques but they all have one thing in common, do not<br />resist, go with the fall, and transfer the energy of the fall.</p>
<p>Learning how to fall has saved me countless times. </p>
<p>In collage I got in a fight with two football players by<br />telling them what I thought of their pansy workout (not a good<br />conversation to have with two big drunk football players). When<br />the 280 pound linebacker chucked me across the room I landed on<br />top of his teammate. </p>
<p>Instinctually I used my entire arm to transfer the energy of<br />the fall downward but instead of slapping the ground like I<br />normally would in the Dojo I smashed the other guys ribcage<br />completely knocking the wind out of him and nearly knocking him<br />out.</p>
<p>Luckily while the big was still trying to figure out what<br />happened to his friend I escaped unharmed.</p>
<p>I can remember another time I was still living up North and<br />winter just broke. It was a beautiful spring day and I decided<br />to go for a bike ride. </p>
<p>I had a racing bike and strapped my feet into the pedals and<br />took off. </p>
<p>What a great day it was, as I was riding down the street I<br />noticed a young lady jogging in a pair of short shorts like<br />they used to.</p>
<p>As I turned my head, like most guys would, I hit the curb and<br />went a$$ over appetite with my feet still connected to my bike.</p>
<p>I could see my self almost in slow motion going over the<br />handlebars. Thankfully I knew how to fall. I rolled on my<br />shoulder and ended up on the grass with the bike on top of me,<br />still attached by my foot peddles. Embarrassed but unharmed.<br />&nbsp;<br />&gt;&gt;LESSON TWO that was beat into me</p>
<p>Learn the moves and practice every day. As you train in your<br />art what ever it is it gets easier and becomes more fun.</p>
<p>After about 21 days of training you will establish a habit and<br />your body will start to crave practice time. </p>
<p>If you don't learn the moves or don't practice you get hit.</p>
<p>The same is true when it comes to dealing with stress and aging.</p>
<p>YOU NEED TO LEARN THE MOVES</p>
<p>What moves?</p>
<p>You need to learn the moves that keep you young.<br />You need to learn the moves that keep you flexible.<br />You need to learn the moves that keep your internal organs<br />healthy.<br />You need to learn the moves that keep the flow of Qi open.<br />You need to learn the moves that keep your hormone levels up.<br />You need to learn the moves that give your seks organs working.<br />(yes I spelt' it dat way on purpose)</p>
<p>Every morning and most evenings I practice these moves.</p>
<p>I'm and old dude but only in years, I'm way younger than a lot<br />of my patients in their 40's who are just falling apart because<br />they don't know these moves.</p>

        <![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>T</strong>his morning I woke up in my hotel room in Tampa and before I<br />even got dressed I was practicing in front of the mirror. <p>If you practice everyday you will get results of your practice.</p>
<p>That's a given. </p>
<p>That's why we practice.</p>
<p>We all practice something whether we know it or not. </p>
<p>Whatever results you're getting in your life, no mater good or<br />bad, it's the results of your practice.</p>
<p>The key is to make what you want to practice easy to do.</p>
<p>I decided what I want in my life many years ago and set out on<br />a journey to bring those good things into my life. </p>
<p>The difference in my mind was that I made it easy to accomplish<br />those things.</p>
<p>I focused on the positive aspects and always put a smile on my<br />face. </p>
<p>There is an exercise that I do that is part of my daily<br />practice that brings me up all the time. I stand in front of a<br />mirror and put a smile on my face and for 60 seconds I look<br />into the mirror smiling at my self and I see my mirror image<br />smiling back at me. </p>
<p>Training yourself to respond positively to your own image is<br />one of the great secrets to success.</p>
<p>Often I say out loud to the mirror,' I look good, I sound<br />great, I feel myself radiate!"</p>
<p>There is one thing for sure the rest of my day is going to be<br /><strong>Great.</strong> </p>
<p>Why? Because I say it is so, and I do this every day. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">and a half ago he was on a roll. He had bought a new home and<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">was making more money than he ever had. With several new<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">ventures in his back pocket the future was brighter than it had<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">ever been and he was on his way to becoming a new millionaire.<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><font face="Times New Roman" color="#000000" size="3">&nbsp;</font></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">Today... not so good, he seems to struggle at everything.<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">hospital, and he can't seem to stay up on paying his bills.<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><font face="Times New Roman" color="#000000" size="3">&nbsp;</font></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">What changed?<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><font face="Times New Roman" color="#000000" size="3">&nbsp;</font></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font size="3"><font color="#000000"><font face="Times New Roman">He changed and if he is going to recover he needs to keep<o:p></o:p></font></font></font></p>

Picked Last<br />Night!<br /><br />How cool is that.<br /><br />Florida isn't known for its organic food but here it really is<br />the best and for more than just being fresh.<br /><br />Let me tell you why.<br /><br />I am very much a believer in vibrations that's why I practice<br />Medical Qi Gong and energetic medicine.<br /><br />If you are buying something and especially if that something is<br />food that you are about to eat or feed to your family, you<br />don't want any bad vibes or low energy from the store or<br />restaurant.<br /><br />Foods with low energy will do nothing but fill your belly, make<br />you fat and toxic regardless of whether or not that food is on<br />your diet. Believe it or don't.<br /><br />Continue to eat those foods and there's a good chance you can<br />even become sick. That's right sick.<br /><br />The food will eat your energy not give you energy and that is<br />defiantly SICK! If you look at food as fuel and you're putting<br />bad fuel in your car or machine of any kind you're going to get<br />poor performance. Not only that, it's going to ware out sooner<br />than you expect.<br /><br />That's why we change our oil; use a better grade of gas etc.<br />Well the same is true with food. If you are eating poor quality<br />food or the vibration of the food is low your going to have a<br />bumpy ride.<br /><br />Now how can one tell if the food has a good vibe or not?<br /><br />There are a few simple guide lines to follow when it comes to<br />food and energy:<br /><br /><strong>1.</strong> Is the person in the store or restaurant helpful and<br />friendly? This is the very first indication that the energy of<br />a place is good, simple but true.<br /><br /><strong>2.</strong> Do you see smiles on the faces of the people in the store or<br />

It occurred to me that there is a very common misconception that goes like this. Activity equals Vitality. Not true. <div>Today I spent most of the day here in Miami in intensive<br />Medical Qi Gong Practice instead of outside enjoying this extra<br />long day.</div>
<div>In case you missed it Today is the Summer Solstice. </div>
<div>The longest dayof the year.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>In the Chinese Healing traditions today is a very special day<br />and when the Fire element is most prominent. </div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>With the Fire element comes all the activity and growth of<br />Summer but it also can bring hazard in the form of overheating.</div>
<div>When the body overheats the internal organs become stressed and<br />the aging process speeds up.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>The heat of summer can build up in the Heart and this can<br />disrupt the sleep with unfocused thoughts and mind chatter.</div>
<div>Getting a good nights sleep in Summer is especially important<br />during these shorter nights. We often stay up later in summer<br />to enjoy the long nights but forget we need sleep too.</div>
<div>It's a shame too because Summer is when we are actually able to<br />regain some of our vital energy and get younger, riper, and<br />more juicy. Instead most Americans do all the wrong things and<br />age even faster in the summer.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>There's three things you can do to make sure you do get younger<br />this season instead of overheat, burn out, and dry up like a<br />raisin.</div>
<div><strong>NUMBER 1 </strong>- Eat cooling foods. When I say cooling foods I'm not<br />talking about ice cream or cold beer, I'm talking about those<br />foods that are identified by the science of Chinese Medicine to<br />cool down your insides. </div>
<div>I list these in my free newsletter going out next week in the<br />mail. </div>
<div>Yes the post office&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>

<div><strong>NUMBER 2 -</strong> Exercise correctly for summer. Summer is not the<br />season to be out beating your feet on the hot pavement. You<br />don't need to do that in Summer. Summer is the time to pump up<br />the connection between the inner and out energy. </div>
<div>Build speed and explosive power in the Summer.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Qi Gong is the best way to do this but not just any Qi Gong.<br />You need to move the internal winds in the summer and keep the<br />body cool. The Recharging Qi Gong is by far the best system of<br />Qi Gong because it's for all seasons. If you have the<br />Recharging Qi Gong pay special attention to the Yin set in the<br />back of the manual and practice the posture for the heart for<br />five minutes a day.</div>

<div>The Tension Release exercise is really the key. Do this every<br />night to clear the body before sleep and you will wake up<br />refreshed, vitalized and best of all Happy. This exercise has a<br />side effect of happy dreams, sounds funny I know but it's true.</div>

<div>It's also responsible for instantaneous solutions or sudden<br />insights. The positive (yin) emotions are kindness,<br />benevolence, compassion, and generosity. The negative (yang)<br />emotions are fright and anger. The liver is also considered<br />the "root of resistance to fatigue." If it's not functioning<br />properly, a person can experience fatigue as well as physical<br />weakness.</div>

        <![CDATA[<p>Many years ago I was studying with a teacher of Zen meditation<br />and breathing in Marin County California and he told me this<br />great story one morning in the meditation hall.</p>
<p>My teacher started his Zen training as a teenager and as most<br />teenagers do, he acted as if he was both all knowing and<br />immortal.</p>
<p>Youthful arrogance and Zen are not the best combination<br />especially when the teacher carries a stick.</p>
<p>Regular beatings were required to speed up the process of<br />enlightenment but to his credit he stuck with it.</p>
<p>He was also fortunate enough to have a teacher that was trained<br />in several different schools of Zen and was well versed with<br />many different breathing techniques. </p>
<p>Zen is not commonly known to have a multitude of "yogic"<br />breathing exercises as do the Indian or Tibetan schools. In Zen<br />the philosophy is generally to simplify the method and focus on<br />the breathing itself.</p>
<p>Now imagine a hormonally hyperactive 16 year old boy fidgeting<br />on his meditation cushion, trying to focus on HIS breathing. To<br />make matters worse this same boy was plagued with sinus trouble<br />and rarely had more than one nostril that was clear. </p>
<p>The boy was not the only one focusing on HIS breathing. The<br />sounds of mucus and snot bubbles coming out of his nose were<br />often the loudest things during meditation practice.</p>
<p>The mere presence of the boy in the meditation hall was a<br />psychic disturbance that could not be ignored no matter what<br />your level of training.</p>
<p>So what to do?</p>
<p>The Zen Master called the boy aside.</p>
<p>"Do you Breathe or are you Breathed?" the Zen Master asked.</p>
<p>Naturally the arrogant youth replied "I Breathe."</p>
<p>"If you Breathe then show me Breathing." The Zen Master<br />instructed.</p>
<p>The boy sat down diligently and began to sniff and snort with<br />purpose and measure through his stuffy nose.</p>
<p>The Zen Master rolled his eyes and held up his hand "STOP! If<br />you Breath now show me not Breathing."</p>
<p>The boy held his breath and the Zen Master watched diligently.</p>
<p>Several moments passed while the boy gradually started to turn<br />blue. Suddenly he exploded and gasped for air.</p>
<p>"What'sa matta?" the Zen Master asked.</p>
<p>"Even if you manage to pass out by holding your breath you will<br />start breathing again on your own. I think that you should<br />investigate this further." With that the Zen Master sent the<br />boy away to meditate on whether or not he breathed or was<br />breathed.</p>
<p>The next day the Zen Master stepped into view in front of the<br />boy while he was in meditation. In his hand he held a rumpled<br />up paper lunch bag that he was breathing into. The bag expanded<br />and collapsed with every breath the Zen Master took. He looked<br />quizzically over the bag at the boy.</p>
<p>As many Zen Masters do, this particular teacher had a special<br />look that he would give a student that meant they should ask<br />what he was doing.</p>
<p>"What are you doing..." the boy reluctantly moaned, knowing full<br />well there was a potential stick whacking in it.</p>
<p>The Zen Master lowered the bag with a great big smile and<br />said "Me? Nothing. But this bag... this bag is Breathing!"</p>
<p>Not all whacks are delivered with a stick. The shock of<br />realization can be delivered even as a joke.</p>
<p>The boy did change his breathing and his focus. He was no<br />longer the distraction in the meditation hall. His breathing<br />became effortless and natural. He healed his sinus problems and<br />eventually he himself became the Master. </p>
<p>Changing the focus from breathing to Being Breathed is a big<br />step but one in the right direction if you want to really open<br />the flow of Qi in your body.</p>
<p>I rarely use a stick but I'm a big fan of the jokes as many of<br />you have seen in the Recharging Qi Gong. </p>
<p>It's ok to laugh, it opens the lungs.</p>
