one scary ride

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

I was visiting my nephew a couple of months back and enjoying
some tea in the living room when we heard what sounded like a
freight train coming down the track followed by a loud crash.
Since he has several small children, we jumped up from our
seats to make sure everybody was OK.

Low and behold, his seven year old daughter had decided to take
a ride in a laundry basket down the steps of their family home.
Uninjured and more embarrassed for all the attention than
anything else she darted back to her room and slammed the door.

We laughed after we realized what had happened.

She was just trying to have fun.

Isn't it amazing what small children can get away without a
scratch?

When you're a young child you think nothing of taking a ride in
a laundry basket down the steps of the house but try that at
age 30 or 40. I think not.

By the time most people reach my age their afraid to fall down
just doing moderate exercise, forget about doing anything crazy.
I get a variety of different patients with all sorts of
problems but one thing I prescribe for everyone is some form of
prescriptive exercise. Usually one of the core 36 exercises in
the Recharging Qi Gong.

Even if you need to rest your body I will give you an exercise
designed to release the tension and relax the body.

I almost always show somebody an exercise for them to do at
home before they leave my office.

I do this for two very important reasons.

One, everybody needs to take a personal interest in keeping
themselves healthy. This increases my patient recovery and
success rate way above the average because the patient is now
doing it for themselves. Just doing the exercise sends a
message to their own body that they truly want to be healthy.

The healing force has to come from within them for them to
really have any lasting benefit.

Two, the exercises I give are designed to make you younger,
stronger, and more resilient to the stress of life.  These
exercises open the breathing, move the fluids of the body, and
get the Qi or vital energy flowing. This in turn heals the
internal organs and makes us more youthful.

While I'm not suggesting that anybody take a ride down the
stairs in a laundry basket, I do suggest that everybody look to
be more active than you already are regardless of your age but
it's important to build good habits.

The older you get the more important it is to engage in
exercises and activity that are gentle on the body while
promoting strength and flexibility.

Many people realize their out of shape and then, in desperation
to get back in shape, they hit it hard and end up blowing out
their back or a knee or worse yet they exhaust their internal
system and get sick.

The Recharging Qi Gong is the perfect daily routine to follow
regardless of your age because it's very gentle on the body but
at the same time you can really work it to get results fast.

When I first started teaching the Recharging Qi Gong I
introduced it as a warm-up. Later I realized that with greater
intensity or repetition of these exercises that people could
get a great workout while tuning up their energy and internal
organs at the same time.

If you already have the Recharging Qi Gong try doing the
exercises with a little variation. Spend a little more time
doing the exercise or imagine that you are moving through wet
sand when you practice. This will work the tendons and muscles
on a very deep level.

If you don't yet have the Recharging Qi Gong what are you
waiting for?

I've put together a great package of powerful information you
won't find anyplace else.

The program includes:

*Two DVDs with over an hour and a half of instruction

*The Recharging Qi Gong manual with over 108 pages of written
instruction, illustrations, and photos

*The Special Report and Mini-Course "Using Stress as an Ally"
all about releasing tension and transforming it in to energy

*An audio CD packed with 3 the three
core secrets
of turning ordinary movements in to healing magic

*An audio CD on and keeping your sexual vitality and youth

*And two live radio interviews where I take live calls and
answer questions, some easy, and some designed to trip me up, I
take them all (I think you will enjoy it)

Reminder and Equinox details

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Last night I mentioned that Qi Gong on the Beach is at a new time 6:00.

That's less than an hour from now, this is just another reminder, see you there!

This change was due to it getting darker and the seasonal change. I'll give more details at Qi Gong tonight.

For the rest of you not in Miami here's some important info for your Qi Gong practice.

The fall Equinox is September 23 it's the time that we change seasons again.

The Autumnal Equinox signals the end of the summer months and the beginning of fall.  It's the point where nights reach the same length as days. After this point, the Sun will shine lower and lower on the horizon until the Winter Solstice in about three months' time.

I always take the time to reset my system both internal and external at this time. The weather is cooler even in Florida, now is the time to harvest the bounty that grew during the summer so we can store up for the cold winter ahead.

It is a time to organize, work hard, and finish projects that you began in spring and summer.

In Ancient China physicians observed the natural cycles of the seasons and prescribed the best Qi Gong exercises for staying healthy and harmonizing our energy with that of our environment.

Fall is the season associated with grief and sadness. It is important to keep the mind clear and "let go" of negative emotions that impact our health more strongly during the fall.

If you haven't learned the Tension Release Exercises I teach, now's a great time to do so.
Go to http://rechargingqigong.com and when you buy the Recharging Qi Gong course I will also send you a 21 page booklet full of great exercises to practice every day.

This is the time to gather one's spirit and energy, be more focused, and keep your desires in check. This means practicing breathing exercises to enhance lung Qi. Maybe do a few extra reps of the Lung exercise from the Yin set, these are the exercises in the back of the book.

Also, one should refrain from smoking and avoid sadness and grief, the negative emotions of lung. This will prevent kidney or digestive problems in the winter.

Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

Are you Open or Closed?

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Last night, while speaking on the phone with one of my
students, I was reminded of why I do what I do.

What I do as a teacher and healer is both a treatment and a
consultation.

There is only so much that I can do when I see you in the
office, the rest of it you need to be able to do on your own
and it needs to be something easy for you to do.

It's also why I share the very same things I myself practice
every day to stay young and strong even at 63.

If the Recharging Qi Gong works for me I know it will work for
you as well as the hundreds, if not thousands of people, I've
already shared them with in the past.

What I was reminded of last night is the most important thing I
teach and I want to share it with you now.

It's the simple shift that happens when you take the time to
notice if you are Open or Closed.

Even if you are Closed and know it, it's so important to stop
and notice. This is what begins all the changes.

When we open to the flow of Qi we open to something way beyond
just the proper function of the body to keep us stronger,
healthier, and living longer.

We are actually opening up to that force that is living us.

My practice of Medical Qi Gong extends way beyond a healing
practice that I do in the office or the powerful exercises I
have be able to share with others.

It is who I am.

The whole foundation of what I do as a healer and teacher can
be defined in three words "Open or Closed".

This is the true Key to the Qi.

When we are Open we experience the world as it is and receive
the stimulus and nourishment that we need to grow.

When we are Closed we choke the flow of stimulus and energy and
create a feedback loop of tension that blocks the fresh energy
from entering into us.

Being Closed can manifest in a number of ways but mostly it is
a symptom of fear or reactivity.

When we stay Closed the emotions, breathing, movement, and
organs begin to weaken, (in that order)

In the Recharging Qi Gong we:

  • Open the Movement,
  • Open the Breathing,
  • Open to Happiness and Energy,
  • Open the proper function of the Organs.

(also in that order)

Every day we are naturally brought a new bag of tensions, if
not a result of our own efforts to grow beyond what we
currently are, they are often thrust upon us by others
struggling with their own experience.

This is why I ALWAYS teach the tension release exercise to my
students and give these precious teachings to you as a gift
when you purchase the Recharging Qi Gong.
( http://rechargingqigong.com for details)

You need to have both power building exercises and tension
release exercises
.

Its not enough to just continually ramp up the Qi in your
system, you need to open to a flow of something even greater
than yourself.

The good news is that you are already plugged in to the
Universal Qi. It is the Sun, the Wind, the Water, and all the
treasures of the Earth. But it is also something more.

Our capacity to be a conduit of this energy increases when we
Open deeper and the stronger the flow of this force will be in us.

This is the meaning of being "In Flow".

The sad thing is that most consider this wondrous state of Flow
a rare and miraculous occurrence and not the norm.

Some of the greatest Chinese Masters and Healers were living
examples of being constantly in Flow. A long, healthy, and
abundant life follows naturally.

I've given away several great secrets in this email that if you
were paying attention will serve you for life but the real
message behind what I do is that by practicing a little Qi Gong
and a little meditation every day you do way more for yourself
than you can imagine.

If you haven't done so yet, don't put it off any longer, check
out what is waiting for you at http://rechargingqigong.com .

My sincerest wish is that you recognize what it is that I'm giving you when you purchase the Recharging Qi Gong and what it is that I want you to accomplish in your life.

It's why I became a healer and a teacher.

It's why I do what I do.

Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

Qi Gong in Motown

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Last night I attended one of the best concerts in my life and learned something about Qi Gong in the process.

detroit.jpgI'm back in Detroit, my hometown, this week and had a rare opportunity to see Stevie Wonder live in concert. How could I pass it up? It's been over a decade since Stevie's been on tour.

The show was fantastic.

I danced.

I sang.

I clapped.

I laughed.

And when Stevie Wonder brought out his daughter and sang to her "Isn't She Lovely" I cried.

Stevie Wonder named this tour "A Wonder Summer Night", his whole idea was to play music for people outside under the stars.

How is it that a blind man can enjoy the stars? You'd think it would be of little consequence to him. Why would he even mention it?

I sat back on the grass listening to Stevie sing as if the words were pouring directly into my heart and pondered this.

I considered my own practice.

Qi Gong has a counterpart that is often referred to as Nei Gong or the internal skill.

In the ancient alchemical texts on Nei Gong it is said that when a man develops his internal vision he can swim in the sky, swallow the moon, and taste the stars.

Maybe Stevie is a master of Nei Gong in his own way.

I myself will be expanding my own Qi Gong and Nei Gong practice as I begin to teach more of the internal aspects of the Recharging Qi Gong.

If you have the Recharging Qi Gong http://rechargingqigong.com you know that in the back of the book I have a special set of exercises called the "Yin Set".

I didn't make a big fuss in the book about these exercises but these are really for the internal organs and the key to the rejuvenating power contained in the Recharging Qi Gong.

Right now I am outlining my next DVD that will focus exclusively on these six exercises. I will give more of the details of the movements as well as the Internal Vision of these exercises and the keys to unlocking their power.

I will keep you posted on this and other developments in the next few days.

Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

PS: Qi Gong on the Beach is on for next Thursday. As always, if your in the Miami area and want to see first hand how the Recharching Qi Gong is done email me at drwudhi@energymedicineflorida.com and I will send you the details. How to workout gently

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Last Thursday I was doing what I love best. I was standing on
the beach, with a bunch of friends, some new, some old, and we
were enjoying beautiful Miami Beach while doing a gentle but
powerful workout.

Is it possible to workout gently?

Of course it is but in the USA we rarely say "Man I'm going to
work out gently".

No, we say "That workout kicked my ___."

Well at 63 years of age I'm done fighting and I don't want
anybody kicking my anything, thank you.

I have knees that are strong.
I have a back that is strong.
I have shoulders and a neck that are powerful.
I walk strong and upright like a man half my age.
I can do a lot of things better than a man half my age in fact
and I don't want any of that changing.

What's more, I'm always working on something to make me even
stronger.

How do I do this?

The first thing is by teaching.

There has been such an incredible interest in what I do since
releasing the Recharging Qi Gong (http://rechargingqigong.com)
that I have been teaching several people on the beach every
Thursday.

Teaching is a great joy for me and helps me get stronger and
refine my own Qi Gong. (yes, I can still get even better)

--------------> Special Note <--------------
If you have the Recharging Qi Gong program, live in Miami, and
you want to join us email me at
drwudhi@energymedicineflorida.com - if your one of the many
that live outside Miami but would like to get some extra time
email me as well, I may be starting a weekly group call for Qi
Gong practitioners
-----------------------------------------------

Second thing is not pounding the tar out of myself during a
workout.

This is a challenge for me because there's not many people my
age that can keep up with me so I workout with guys generally
in their thirties or forties and I still have a competitive
streak in me.

Do I get sore, oh yeah, I work the muscles but I avoid being
seriously injured because my primary focus is on opening up the
Qi energy. I don't do anything that is in conflict with the
flow of Qi.

I'm working with the body to work the body.

Sounds funny but it's true.

People often get hurt when they get a bright idea on what to do
to their muscles and it's totally intellectual.

Example: "I'm going to load up all this weight and see if I can
pick it up over my head."

Some times this works, I've done it, but I've also over done it.

My approach, the Medical Qi Gong Approach, is more like working
from inside the muscle out. I'm not doing anything to my
muscles. I AM MY MUSCLES and this is my range of motion, this
how I can express myself powerfully.

When we express ourselves through our dynamic use of our
muscles we heal and get into great shape at the same time.

This is why dancers, gymnasts, martial artists, and athletes of
all kinds are incredible physical specimens. You could even go
as far as to say that the key to all body weight conditioning
isn't in the "weight" or the "conditioning", it's the BODY.

When your body and its expression is the workout there is no
equipment to distract you. It's all you baby!

Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

PS: Today is Thursday! So don't forget, see you on the beach
tonight.

13 steps of Motionless Qi Gong

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Yesterday I mentioned that I like to start every workout with
a little standing meditation.

In case you missed it, I wanted to give you a little more on
this because I feel its one of thee most important things you
can do for any physical training.

Any?

Yes any!

And you can get benefit from it right away.

Let me explain.

I used to be an avid skier, and by skier I mean the kind where
the water is frozen not like the kind they do here in Florida.

I grew up in Detroit but for many years I was blessed with a
home in Telluride, this is one of the greatest ski slopes in
the world and once I learned to ski I couldn't get enough of it.

Snow skiing, especially telemarking (basically downhill skiing
on cross country skis) is like high intensity Qi Gong. You
really have to extend your attention ahead of you while at the
same time  be totally connected to your body in an elastic and
super sensitive way.

Muscles are in use but not locked. You are responsive to the
slightest change in the condition of the snow under your feet
while at the same time you are projecting your self rapidly and
purposely down a mountain!

Well, Snow Skiing has a very meditative side to it as well.

Once you complete your run down the mountain you sit
motionless. (in a ski lift)

Now you are able to take inventory of your body. Am I ready for
another run?

Your spirit (and body) is lifted.

You are given a vantage point high above everything you just
went through and you see it all new, as if for the first time.

You are able to pick a new path for your energy (and body) to
follow, one that will be even more fun.

Then you land on top of the mountain, your body rested and your
mind refreshed. You are ready to act.

I had a lot of time to practice meditation when I went skiing!
I still love to combine this principle of intense activity and
motionless meditation in every thing I do.

Maybe Khalil Gibran meant it literally when he said
"rest in reason; move in passion".

If you haven't started to do the standing meditation before and
after practicing the Recharging Qi Gong
(http://rechargingqigong.com) or any Qi Gong type practice
you're missing out.

The good news is that it's simple to start right away.

Here's how:

  1. Before you begin stand motionless and survey your body.
  2. How do you feel?
  3. Are you ready?
  4. What will you do differently this time?
  5. How can you improve?
  6. How closely will you match your intention with your movements?
  7. Now relax just feeling.
  8. Then without any apprehension begin your practice.
  9. Be like an artist and focus on the texture of the movements.
  10. Then when you complete the practice just stop motionless again
and take survey of your body.
  11. How did you do?
  12. Now how do you feel?
  13. Then pause once more with no particular thing in mind.

And then go about your business.

It's that simple but the benefit is enormous. Practice in this
way and you will make huge gains in any discipline you practice.

Granted there's a lot more that you can do as all of you that
have the Recharging Qi Gong know but this is an easy way to
start Motionless Qi Gong and you can apply it anywhere.

Keep those emails coming and let me know how your practice is
coming.

And yes, we are on for Qi Gong on the beach this Thursday.

Whishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

PS: in case you didn't notice I've got a new url, in addition
to http://energymedicineflorida.com I'm also using
http://rechargingqigong.com for now they go to the same place
but this will soon change.

Holiday Weekend Qi Gong Workout

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

The Recharging Qi Gong is an energizing routine that you can
learn and practice quickly, that's why I created the program.

But when you have a little more time, on say a holiday weekend,
you might want to do a little more.

Here's how I did it yesterday:

I was up early and on the beach by 6:00 AM Sunday morning to
watch the Big Ball of Fire come up over the Atlantic Ocean and
it was beautiful.

Even at 6:00 AM there were way more people moving about than
usual but I was not detoured in the slightest in staking out my
spot to practice Qi Gong.

I always start out with a 15 minute standing meditation and I
practice the one through ten meditation I teach every body in
the "3 Internal Secrets of Qi Gong".

3secretsCD.jpg
(if you got the Recharging Qi Gong it's on the Red audio CD, if
you don't have it you can get it as part of the Recharging Qi
Gong package here -> http://rechargingqigong.com)

After I've powered up with the deep breathing and
visualizations I go right into the Recharging Qi Gong Exercise.

I can go through the entire routine in 15 to 20 minutes with no
problem.

Next the Dao Zou, (walking backwards exercises) if you don't
know about the Dao Zou go to Matt Furey's site
http://www.mattfurey.com/dao_zou.html and read all about it
there. You can even read my testimonial at the bottom of the
page.

I ended my practice by doing the Flying Crane Qi Gong set and
1/2 of the Automatic Move. (You can still find my Flying Crane
DVD on Amazon but I'm probably going to create an entire
program on this form like I did for the Recharging Qi Gong)

The entire training time took about 2 hours and by the time I
was finished the beach was packed.

Instead of 1 or 2 people passing by and maybe joining in I had
about 15 people standing and watching.

Everybody was having fun and the sun was already starting to
heat things up.

I can tell it's going to be a great holiday just because of the
way I feel.

If you're up early Monday I suggest you hit the beach, or the
park, or a nice open place outside before it starts to heat up
and before people fire up their grills.

Get in an early workout, even if it's just a walk, and I
guarantee you'll feel great the rest of the day.

Enjoy your holiday!

Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

PS: Don't forget Thursdays we workout together on the beach. If
you don't have the info and you're in the Miami area email me
at drwudhi@energymedicineflorida.com and I'll send you the
details. See you there next week.
